Day 38 Fosston > Bemidji

Wednesday - stormy night last night. Thought it must have been Michele's digestive system! We were on tornado alert all night. It did occur to me that we didn't ask what one should do if you were hit by a tornado! Run, hide or do the usual just stand there and take it! Anyway we were lucky, more than I can say for those 40 km away! The good news is the tornados have brought winds from the west. We made it to Bemidji in just over a couple of hours! 75km! Too far to the next town and with rain spreading in we have to call it a day. The chinese buffet - all you can eat and drink $17.00 for two lived up to its name!  Most of the customers were giving it a good go! We had much pleasure watching their attempts to pile a plate as high as possible. Yes- I know,  you can go up just as many times as you like but I think the thought of having to walk all the way back to the buffet was putting them off! By drink I mean soft drinks. Michele couldn't believe it - in fact she couldn't believe it all the way back to the hotel and is now back in our room saying I cann't believe it!

Ha ha ha I like the skunk! Well done Jo, sounds like an epic battle and you're heading for victory. Lazy Friday afternoon in Bahrain (weekend here) watching the first day of the Trent Bridge test, England v West Indies. Thoughts of two Trent Bridge tests of the past: first, sitting with a friend and George, peeling back sweaty cling film on a cheese roll, and sipping on a Capri Sun while the West Indies crew sitting next to us opened up a hamper containing a banquet of Caribbean delights, and drooling. Lesson learned though. Secondly, sitting in the posh Radcliffe Road stand insisting that you follow protocol and etiquette and stop 'whooping', and trying to get you to clap politely, while all you wanted to do is join the all singing, all dancing, multi-costumed Barmy Army! Happy days! Good luck Jo, you're doing an amazing job! love from the Thompsons x
