Day 41 Floodwood > Proctor
Saturday – Up early. 6am start – the forecast was for rain latter so we had to get a move on. Roy Orberson has now changed names – Jack Duckworth as she has now put plasters around her glasses to stop the wind catching her eyes. So embarrassing – I’m keeping well ahead! Good news is she has slightly recovered and is getting her sence of humour back. Visibility is tricky and she was nearly wiped out by a US mail box which pertruded into the shoulder lane. I nearly fell off laughing. We made good time and stopped at a diner for breakfast. The locals seemed amazed we arrived on bikes. Bacon and eggs and we were on our way. The rolling hills got a little longer and higher and pulling the trailer was no joke but as we topped the last hill and got our first glimse of the Great Lakes through the morning mist I have to say I cried and find it difficult to write this without welling up again! Cann’t believe I got here. Great to have Michele along to experience the moment. We arrived in Proctor and checked in at the hotel. Moments latter the heavens opened – lucky girls.
Road Kill – 1 x black cat – not so lucky
Weather sunny then rain
