Day 60 Montebello > Repentlgny

Monday - up early already roasting hot. Followed the river to Montreal. Very tricky route and had to change route as the hotel availability was getting increasingly difficult. I think the tent will have to be the way forward until Rob arrive next week. Managed to find a spot in Repentigny. The day was the hottest by far yet and after drenching myself with water several times I called it a day after 100km. A shame because the road surface was the best yet. The Newarkers are on their way back to sunny Newark via Niagara and no doubt a few shops in Toronto. They have made the time go quickly and the roads a lot easier I will miss them terribly but it's the home stretch now! Weather sunny hot hot Wind S Road Kill 2 x Racoon, 1 x skunk, 2 x black squirrel, 1 x Red squirrel, 1 x ratty looking thing, 2 x chipmunks,1 x cat, 2 x dogs - well we are in France now! Bad day at black rock!

Yo Jo. I am glad that you got to see the Chateau. Kevin is now back in the land of diamonds. We all loved meeting you and getting to spend some time with the Bristish trio. It's going to be a SUPER HOT few days mixed with some thunder storms here so we wish you cool breezes from the north and flat roads. Safe journey. Au revoir. Liz et al

Had great day at Niagara falls unfortunately there was no trace of the rope so Lucy relaxed and enjoyed the wonderful sites. At airport now relaxing in posh lounge eating and drinking again!! It was great for us both to be part of your epic journey and encounter the multitude of what you have endured its absolutely brilliant and will go home to tell our stories, perhaps not all of them !! You will never believe though what film we watched in airport hotel (it wasn't Witness ) but Harrison Ford was in it and memories of our journey back from Lizs house with Kevin sprang to mind, perhaps a story that can be told.

Glad to hear you r doing the distance without your backup team especially in the heat of today which reached 42 degrees with us, but I expect you are not able to stop and enjoy the wonderful picnics which we arranged so beautifully for your lunch breaks! However I suspect you don't miss us patrolling up and down the highways and pipping that horn and the film director hanging out the window trying to get film footage hoping to make a break on You Tube.

Wish we were still there with you thanks for tolerating us we really enjoyed ourselves lots of love the Newarkers xxxx
