Day 44 Ashland > Ironwood Michigan

Tuesday > Had breakfast watching a passing rain storm – today would be a shower dodging day for sure. Michele ordered a small breakfast of two eggs and a loaf of bread. She was still peckish so polished off a pancake slab trying all three sauces – Bo Derek – maybe not! On we pressed through peaceful Indian territory. Michele was sauntering along – on account of her heavy load! She was much amused by the sight of an Indian giving me chase on another bicycle. I on the other hand was totally unaware and assumed by briefly glancing back that it was Michele behind me although I did think she had acquired a tan and a wide grin! So I upped the pace. Luckily the casino grabbed his attention and I was able to put some distance inbetween us. Possibly a scene from Lost of the Mohicans! We left the reserve and soon found a roadside diner just as the next storm passed over. We stayed dry and made it to Ironwood by mid afternoon. Charlotte and Jim were there soon after with lots of treats from home. Great to see them and recount some of the crazy times we’ve had.
