Michele was overcome with a animal rescue plan but as the turtle was basically inbetween the road and the traintracks I do think his days were numbered. He was huge as you will see once I get these next photos online.

Lunched in the pretty town of Munising and continued on the more remote stretch towards Newberry until the kids picked us up after just over 100 km.

Michele ordered a small breakfast of two eggs and a loaf of bread. She was still peckish so polished off a pancake slab trying all three sauces - Bo Derek - maybe not!

We have seen numerous deer all along the route but today was my first bear sighting. It loped along the other side of the road and was quite large but seriously not interested in the traffic on the road.
